Courtney has always had a keen interest in science and conservation and became a dedicated marine conservationist when he took up diving some ten years ago. He took every opportunity to become involved in marine conservation and research expeditions with the RAF Sub-Aqua Association. These took him to Ascension Island and Thailand and earned a Gold Medal from the Duke of Edinburgh in 2007 (see Expeditions). Since leaving the RAF as a Wing Commander in 2007, Courtney settled in Buckinghamshire with Carol. Together Courtney and Carol Courtnage have set up Project Ocean Vision to continue their conservation work. Read more about Courtney's life in his on-line biography, Vox Clamantis in Deserto. The latest expedition report from Carol and Courtney is available here. |
